The Heart of Maryland Chorus is also know as the Patapsco Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We formed in 1982 by a merger of the Catonsville and Columbia chapters. Since then we have been increasing our membership and sharing our music within the community.

The chorus performs in local events, including our annual show and the popular Lasagne and Barbershop Dinner. Our performance at the Fort McHenry Flag Day celebration is one of the highlights of the year.

In addition to local performances, the chorus completes at the division and district level within the Mid-Atlantic District of the Society. Several quartets are active within the chapter, performing locally and competing on the contest stage.

Musical director Kevin King has lead the Heart of Maryland for over twenty years. He is a former certified singing and interpretation judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society who has sung in several prominent quartets, including Freelancers, BSQ, Untouchables, and the Pros and Cons.
